As I begin this day, I thank You for the gift of life and the opportunities to serve You. Open my heart to recognize Your work in all people, even those outside my familiar circles.

Heavenly Father, as I begin this day, I remember how Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” and Peter answered, “You are the Christ of God.”

During a September 14 Mass at Saint Gabriel's Church in Hopkins, Minnesota, chaplain Father Bauman experienced something extraordinary during the consecration.
